About Me

My photography journey began at 12 years old with a Kodak Box Brownie Model Flash 2, a gift I still cherish. With little knowledge and limited means, I learned through trial and error, fuelled by passion.

After leaving school, I worked for the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission, photographing construction sites and machinery. Later, I traveled through Western Australia with my Miranda 35mm SLR, experimenting with Agfa and Kodak 35mm film to capture the region's vibrant reds and ochres. A transfer to Bougainville in the Solomon Islands introduced me to the vivid greens and blues of he tropics, further shaping my skills. 

Returning to Australia, I balanced steady work in advertising with occasional photography. Eventually, I pursued a Visual Arts degree, focusing on lighting and "painting with light".

The journey evolves, always driven by a love for capturing the world.
